Reliable hot water is crucial for health, medical, and hygiene needs wherever they occur.
So Aus J Hot Water Solutions was delighted when special-purpose and custom vehicle fitout specialist I and D Industries of Sydney chose its Aqueous 6L12V water heater for a mobile clinic to be used to promote aboriginal health in Outback areas.
Built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4x4 LWB to the precision specifications of Mobile Health Clinics Australia, the vehicle combines serious off-road capability with a purpose-designed clinical environment.
Every element of the build reflects the operational demands of remote healthcare – long travel distances, limited infrastructure, and the need for a system that performs reliably day after day in remote and less accessible communities.
The vehicle delivers services beyond the reach of hospitals and traditional clinics. It happens on Country – across heat, dust, distance, and terrain where reliability is not a luxury, but a necessity.

The compact, easily integrated and reliable Aqueous 12V water heater, left, provides reliable hot water for the fully equipped clinic, right.
An engineering feature of the vehicle is the integrated electric hoist and stabilisation system, purpose-built for uneven terrain. The system allows the clinic to level and stabilise safely on remote ground, creating a secure platform for patient access and protecting sensitive medical equipment during clinical operations. Inside, the vehicle functions as a fully self-contained medical clinic.
“I and D are leaders in custom fitouts of vehicles, who operate to the highest standards of reliability and precision,” said Aus J Managing Director Jay King.
The company has also used Aus J’s 10-litre 12V/240V Duoetto in earlier projects, selecting the 6-litre Aqueous in this instance because of its easily integrated compact installation and reliability proven across thousands of installations in Australia and globally.
The same Aqueous and Duoetto water heaters are used for cleaning, cooking, showering and hygiene across a wide range of RV work vehicles, ranging from medical and health applications, to catering and caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers, 4WDs, buses, trucks, and, increasingly, converted vans (vanlifers) used by entire families and their pets.
